The Importance Of Mental And Physical Health Inside And Outside The Industry
This week we are joined by Leishla Maldonado from Providence, Rhode Island. Leishla is a mother, award winning bartender, and consultant. Originally from Boston, Leishla began her hospitality career as a sandwich artist at Subway. From there, she moved on to becoming an Award winning hostess at Hard Rock Cafe, to working at one of the more established cocktail bars in Providence to managing a bar and instilling low proof and no proof spirits and cocktails. As a consultant, Leishla develops menus at various bars and cafes in the Providence and Boston area.
Being a mother and working in many different positions from the ground up has allowed Leishla to see things from a different perspective. From having conversations with 50(+) different people around the world through Social media meeting platforms over the last few years, advocating for mental and personal health outside and inside of the industry, and launching a GOFUNDME that helped over 120 hospitality professionals of all areas to help provide assistance through the pandemic, Leishla works diligently to create comfortable spaces for her community as a woman of color.
