E22 Jonathan Stanyard
An Open Kitchen Format Can Unite Back of House and Front of House
Jonathan Stanyard is a Seattle based bartender and a veteran to the industry. His career started in the Bay Area, California in 1999 at a friends’s Italian Restaurant. This opportunity took him from the dish pit, to working the floor, management and of course - behind the bar.
In 2014, Jonathan moved to Seattle, Washington to continue the pursuit of excellence in the cocktail world. In 2019, he launched his own specialized line of bitters - The Bitter Gringo Company. It was also the year he began competing in various local and national cocktail competitions. By the end of 2019, Jonathan participated in five regional finals and took first in two and was runner up in another two.
Most recently, Jonathan was Bar Manager for Brother Barrel, a craft cocktail bar with 18 taps of barrel-aged and sour beers. From dimly list jazz clubs to high-end French steakhouses, cafes and private events, Jonathan has immersed himself in all styles of service. He has a razor sharp focus on his pursuit of becoming the best bartender and to create the most unique and complete cocktail experiences, both physically and digitally.
