E159 Natalie Bovis

Producing Culinary and Mixology Events

This weeks guest is Natalie Bovis. Natalie’s first high school restaurant job was as a busser in her hometown of Santa Fe, New Mexico, back in 1985. Since then, Natalie has held every front-of-house position imaginable in restaurants, bars, and nightclubs from Los Angeles, Paris, Washington DC,to a small town on the Costa Brava in Spain. Natalie has been a restaurant publicist, and is currently a culinary event producer, and cocktail book author.

Natalie was one of the first women blogging about mixology when she launched The Liquid Muse in 2006. From there, she has taught mixology seminars at Tales of the Cocktail in New Orleans, at the Bols House in Amsterdam, Portland Cocktail Week, Arizona Cocktail Week; consults for liquor brands; and co-founded OM Chocolate Liqueur, which is now available in 18 states and the Caribbean. In 2015, she created New Mexico’s first annual mixology festival, and she is also a Culinary Producer for the James Beard Foundation’s Taste America national dinner series. Natalie's latest book, Drinking with My Dog: the Canine Lovers’ Cocktail Book, came out earlier this year, and her next book Cocktails with My Cat: Tasty Tipples for Feline Fanatics comes out next Spring.
